About Matthew
Matthew Crowley built his career on courtroom work and firm leadership. He attended law school in Washington, D.C., then returned to practice in the Mid-Atlantic region, moving steadily into positions that combined trial work and firm management.
Crowley earned his J.D. from American University Washington College of Law in 2003. He completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Utah, receiving a B.A. in political science in 2000. The sequence of those degrees set the stage for a practice that spans both litigation and organizational stewardship.
He began his legal practice in the early 2000s. In 2004 he worked as an associate at the Law Offices of J.W. Nesari, PLC and at Davies, Barrell, Will, Lewellyn & Edwards, PLC. Those early roles placed him in environments handling client representation and courtroom appearances, experience that would inform later leadership positions.
Over the following decade Crowley moved between firms and roles, taking on lawyer positions at Cornerstone Venture Law, PLC and Price Benowitz LLP in 2015. In 2017 he became managing partner of the criminal division at Robinson Law, PLLC. The managing partner title reflected responsibility for a team and for shaping how criminal matters were handled within the firm.
In 2020 Crowley became principal of Crowley Peritz Law, LLC. He has maintained a presence in Virginia practice circles and is a member of the Fairfax Bar. He also has been active in community work, serving as president of Piedmont United Way since 2013. Those roles indicate continued engagement with both the legal community and civic organizations.
Throughout his career Crowley has moved between front-line litigation and firm administration. He has steered a criminal division and now leads his own firm. He brings courtroom experience and managerial experience to case handling and office operations. He now practices at Crowley Peritz Law, LLC in Virginia, where his work centers on criminal defense and related litigation.
