About Matthew Coy
Matthew Coy Lewis took a direct path into the law. He studied criminology at the University of Texas at Arlington, earning a Bachelor of Arts in 2017. He then turned to legal study at the William H. Bowen School of Law, receiving his J.D. in 2021. Those classroom years framed a practical approach to legal problems and a readiness for courtroom work.
After law school Lewis entered private practice. He has maintained active ties to both Arkansas and Texas, holding licenses to practice in each state. Early in his career he handled a variety of matters that gave him front-line experience in courtroom procedure, client counseling, and negotiation. That early variety helped him decide how to structure his own practice.
Lewis established the Law Office of Matthew C. Lewis, PLLC and began building a small practice that serves individual and business clients across state lines. He manages case intake, client interviews, and litigation strategy directly. Operating a solo or small-firm practice has allowed him to control every stage of representation, from initial filings through contested hearings.
Colleagues describe him as exacting about preparation and clear in courtroom presentation. He prefers straightforward legal writing and a methodical approach to evidence. In client meetings he emphasizes plain-language explanations. In hearings he leans on careful organization and attention to procedural detail rather than flashy rhetoric.
He remains active in the bar communities of both states and in local professional circles. Today he represents clients in both Arkansas and Texas, handling litigation and advising on state and local matters.
