About Matthew
Matthew Bollman is an Iowa-licensed attorney whose academic path combined Midwestern roots and a legal education in the Rocky Mountains. He earned a B.A. in economics from the University of Northern Iowa in 1991 and completed his J.D. at the University of Denver in 1996. Those degrees frame a legal career based in Iowa.
After law school he entered the practice of law in Iowa. He is admitted to the Iowa bar and works across multiple communities in the state. Over the years his practice has been organized to serve clients from both urban and rural parts of Iowa, reflecting the varied geography of the places where he holds offices.
Bollman maintains a presence in West Des Moines, Okoboji, Marion, Bettendorf and Dubuque. The network of offices allows him to meet clients locally and handle matters in person when circumstances call for it. Colleagues and clients describe this setup as practical; it places legal counsel within reach of people in different regions of the state.
His academic background in economics informs how he approaches legal problems. That foundation can be useful in cases that involve financial or regulatory questions, as well as in client counseling where economic consequences matter. The combination of an economics degree and a law degree gives him a framework for assessing both legal risk and practical impact.
In the office he is known for a methodical work style. He prepares matters carefully and places emphasis on clear explanations for clients. He works with people, businesses and other organizations that need representation or advice under Iowa law. He also appears before state tribunals and handles transactional work that requires attention to statutory detail.
Outside of casework he has remained connected to legal developments in the state and to the communities where his offices are located. That connection helps him stay informed about local needs and changes in law that affect day-to-day practice. He balances time between in-office work and client meetings across his locations.
As of 2026 he continues to practice law in Iowa from offices in West Des Moines, Okoboji, Marion, Bettendorf and Dubuque. He focuses on providing legal services to clients across those Iowa communities.
