About Matthew B.

Matthew B. Bunch combines decades of courtroom experience with steady involvement in local and national bar organizations. He completed his undergraduate studies at Indiana University Bloomington, earning a B.A. in 1989. He then attended Western Michigan University Cooley Law School, where he received his J.D. in 1993.

He began his legal career in 1993 at Bunch & Brock. That same year marked the start of his practice in Kentucky. Over time his admissions have expanded to include the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals, the U.S. Supreme Court, the U.S. District Courts for the Eastern and Western Districts of Kentucky, and the U.S. Bankruptcy Courts for both the Eastern and Western Districts of Kentucky. Those admissions give him the ability to represent clients in a wide range of trial and appellate matters across state and federal forums.

On the day-to-day side he handles litigation and bankruptcy matters that come before both state and federal judges. He has navigated procedural and substantive issues in district courts and in bankruptcy proceedings. His practice reflects long experience in courtroom procedure, filings in federal and state venues, and representation of clients in contested matters.

Outside of casework he has maintained active ties to the profession. He has been a member of the Fayette County Bar Association since 1993. He also joined the American Bar Association in 1994 and remains a member. Those affiliations connect him to continuing legal education, local court developments, and networks of practitioners across disciplines.

At Bunch & Brock he has remained a steady presence in the firm's legal work. He has practiced there since joining the firm in 1993. Colleagues and court calendars reflect years of handling matters in both Kentucky state courts and the federal system. He works on cases that require appearances in district and bankruptcy courts, and he is admitted to handle matters that proceed to the appellate level.

He continues to represent clients from that office, accepting matters that involve litigation, federal court practice, and bankruptcy proceedings. His current practice centers on representing clients in state and federal litigation and in bankruptcy cases.
