About Matt

Matt Buck earned his Juris Doctor from The John Marshall Law School in 2011. He completed his legal education after several years of study and training, preparing for practice in a state where cannabis law and criminal defense have been evolving rapidly.

Buck moved into practice in Colorado, where he has built a career around criminal matters and marijuana-related cases. Early in his career he worked at Corry & Associates in 2014, where his title is listed as Marijuana Lawyer. That period gave him courtroom exposure and practical experience in cases shaped by changing state statutes and municipal rules.

In 2015 he joined the Colorado Criminal Defense Bar Association. The membership has been part of his professional life since then, providing a forum for trial techniques, appellate developments and local practice issues. He has used that connection to stay current on criminal procedure and the shifting interaction between state and municipal law enforcement.

By 2017 Buck had moved to Red Law, LLC. Records show him associated with the firm beginning that year. At Red Law he has taken on a range of matters that intersect criminal defense and regulatory disputes tied to marijuana businesses. The move coincided with a broadening of his practice beyond individual criminal cases to include business clients affected by licensing, compliance and enforcement actions.

Colleagues describe Buck as pragmatic in court and careful in preparation. He tends to favor clear, direct arguments and attention to evidentiary details. In hearings he is measured, and on discovery he looks for inconsistencies that can shift a case. Those habits reflect the types of matters he handles: contested prosecutions, administrative hearings and client advisories for operators in a tightly regulated sector.

Outside of courtrooms, Buck has worked on filings and client counseling that respond to municipal ordinances and state regulatory changes. The work often involves reading new rules, advising on permit renewals and representing clients at administrative hearings. It requires balancing legal risk against business realities.

He maintains his practice in Colorado and remains active with practitioners who specialize in criminal defense. At Red Law, LLC he continues to represent clients in criminal and cannabis-related matters, managing both litigation and regulatory work for individuals and businesses.
