Matt Balmuth began his academic journey on the West Coast. He earned a Bachelor of Science in economics with a minor in philosophy from the University of California, San Diego in 2005. He returned to California for law school, completing his Juris Doctor at Southwestern University School of Law in 2013. Those years combined study of markets, logic and legal doctrine, and they shaped the way he approaches legal problems.
After law school, Balmuth entered private practice. In 2013 he worked as an associate at Mesriani Law Group.
