About Mason
Mason Hiatt graduated from Indiana University Bloomington with a Bachelor of Science in 2018 and earned his Juris Doctor from Indiana University Maurer School of Law in 2022. He completed his legal training at a law school known for its emphasis on practical skills and litigation clinic work, and left with the credentials to begin practice in his home state.
He moved into legal practice in Indiana soon after earning his degree. Early years saw him learn the routines of case preparation, client intake and courtroom procedure. He worked on matters that required attention to procedural detail and communication with clients, judges and opposing counsel. Those tasks built the foundation of his approach to handling legal problems.
Hiatt’s career has been concentrated in matters governed by Indiana law. He regularly appears in state courts and interacts with local regulatory frameworks. His day-to-day work balances written advocacy and in-person appearances. He prepares pleadings and briefs, conducts factual investigation and meets with clients to map out legal options. He is comfortable handling both contested matters and advice work that aims to prevent disputes.
Colleagues describe him as methodical in case preparation and careful in client conversations. He draws on his undergraduate background in science to structure analysis and to approach evidence with attention to detail. Those habits show up in depositions, hearings and settlement discussions. He also spends time on continuing legal education and follows developments in state statutes and case law that affect his clients’ interests.
Outside the office, he maintains ties to his alma mater and to legal circles in Indiana. He holds active memberships in professional organizations in the state, where he participates in educational events and networking opportunities. He uses those contacts to stay current on practice trends and to connect clients with other specialists when matters require different expertise.
Today he is based in Indiana and handles a range of legal matters that arise under state law. He combines courtroom experience with counseling work, helping clients understand their options and the likely outcomes of different courses of action. He currently practices in Indiana, representing clients in matters arising under state law.
