About Marty

Marty Haug earned his undergraduate degree from Mississippi State University in 2000 and went on to receive his J.D. from Florida Coastal School of Law in 2003. He chose schools in two different regions, a path that appears to have shaped a career spanning both states. Those academic years set the stage for practice across state lines.

After law school, Haug began practicing law in jurisdictions where he is licensed: Florida and Mississippi. He has worked in courtrooms in both states and is a familiar presence among trial attorneys in the region. His early work involved litigating disputes that required preparing cases for trial and appearing before judges and juries.

Throughout his career Haug has been an active member of professional organizations that align with trial work. He holds memberships in the Mississippi Association for Justice, the Southern Trial Lawyers Association and the American Association for Justice. Those associations provide access to continuing education, trial technique resources and a network of peers who try cases in state and federal courts.

Haug’s daily practice centers on contested matters that go beyond paper filings. He spends substantial time on case investigation, depositions and courtroom advocacy. Colleagues and opposing counsel describe him as methodical. He tends to approach cases by breaking down the facts into discrete issues, then testing those issues through discovery and motion practice. That approach is reflected in how he prepares witnesses and frames arguments for juries.

He has handled a range of civil matters. The professional groups he belongs to indicate an emphasis on plaintiff-side trial work, and his caseload has included suits that require detailed fact development and trial readiness. He is comfortable in jury trials and bench proceedings, and he has experience coordinating teams of experts when technical or medical issues are part of a case.

Haug balances litigation with ongoing professional development. He attends seminars offered by the trial bar and contributes to peer discussions on trial strategy and evidence handling. The memberships he maintains keep him connected to trial practice trends and the evolving rules that govern evidence and procedure.

He maintains an active practice in Florida and Mississippi, representing clients in both state and federal courts. He currently handles civil litigation matters in Florida and Mississippi.
