About Martin S.
Martin S. LaScola earned his law degree from The John Marshall Law School in 1999 after completing a bachelor’s degree in political science and social philosophy at Marquette University in 1996. He entered the legal field at the turn of the century and has since built a career that includes work in both public prosecution and private defense.
He began his practice as an Assistant State’s Lawyer in the Cook County State’s Lawyer’s Office in 2000. That early courtroom experience handling prosecutions provided daily exposure to litigation and trial procedure. He moved into private practice in the mid-2000s, joining The Davis Law Group, P.C. in 2004 and rising from associate to junior partner during his time there.
In 2007 he served as of counsel to the Law Office of Alexander Gruzmark, Ltd., and later took on a leadership role in 2013 as Lead Counsel and Managing Partner of the Criminal Defense Department at Gardi & Haught, Ltd. In 2019 he founded and became principal and managing partner of LaScola Law Offices, Ltd., building a practice that reflects the range of his courtroom background.
LaScola is admitted to practice in Illinois and before the Federal Circuit. He has been an active member of the Illinois State Bar Association since 2004. His professional recognitions include inclusion in the Top 100 Trial Lawyers list by The National Trial Lawyers and several AVVO distinctions, such as the Client’s Choice Award, being listed as a Featured Lawyer for DUI matters, and recognition as a Top Contributor on that platform.
