About Martin C.
Martin C. Weisman built his legal foundation in two Midwestern schools. He earned a B.A. from Ohio Wesleyan University in 1967 and a J.D. from the University of Michigan Law School in 1970. Those credentials launched a long-standing presence in Michigan’s legal community.
He is admitted to practice in Michigan and has been active in local and national bar circles. Over the years he has combined private practice with substantial involvement in professional organizations. That mix has kept him connected to both the practical and institutional sides of the law.
Weisman serves as a partner at Weisman, Young & Ruemenapp, P.C. He occupies a leadership role at the firm and participates in the firm’s matters and client work. Colleagues describe him as steady in the office and engaged in the procedural and strategic aspects of representation.
His professional affiliations are broad. He is a member of the Detroit Bar Association and the Oakland County Bar Association, and he belongs to the American Bar Association and the Michigan State Bar. He is also a member of the American Judicature Society and the Banking Law Institute. He holds membership in trial-oriented groups, including the Michigan Trial Lawyers Association and the Association of Trial Lawyers of America. He is a charter member of the Academy of Hospitality Industry Lawyers.
Weisman’s standing in the bar is reflected in two fellowship posts. He is a Fellow of the Michigan State Bar Foundation and a Fellow of the Oakland County Bar Foundation. He also lists membership in the Professional Resolution Experts of Michigan (PREMI), signaling engagement with alternative dispute resolution practitioners.
Over a career that stretches from the late 20th century into the present, Weisman has balanced practice responsibilities with active participation in professional governance and education. He has taken part in continuing legal education and association activities that inform practice standards in Michigan. His work at the firm and his association roles reflect sustained involvement in both transactional and contested matters.
His current practice centers on matters reflected by his memberships in banking and hospitality law groups, together with trial and civil litigation work in Michigan.
