About Marshall

Marshall Schaap built his legal foundation in two very different settings: the wide open spaces of Wyoming and the focused classrooms of Stetson University College of Law. He studied for a Bachelor of Science at the University of Wyoming before turning to law school in Florida, where he earned his J.D. and prepared for practice in the state.

After law school he moved into private practice. Early entries on his resume show time at Cole, Scott & Kissane, P.A. in 2007. The following year he joined Weekley Schulte Valdes, LLC as a lawyer. Those roles came at a formative time in his career, offering steady exposure to the daily work of litigation and client representation in Florida courts.

His path has been shaped by steady practice rather than public-facing honors. Colleagues remember his willingness to handle routine and complex matters alike. He took on files, managed deadlines and appeared on behalf of clients in hearings and negotiations. The record shows a practitioner who learned through doing, building experience over repeated cases and client interactions.

Schaap’s education and early years in firm environments provided a practical toolkit. He understands how law offices operate and how cases move from intake to resolution. That practical grounding is evident in how he approaches client work: methodical, attentive to procedure and oriented toward the next step in a case rather than grand strategy alone.

Outside of the courtroom he has navigated the administrative side of practice—managing filings, coordinating with opposing counsel and counselors, and keeping clients informed. In smaller firms and larger practices, those everyday tasks often determine outcomes as much as any single courtroom appearance. Schaap’s record reflects this steady, process-driven approach.

He continues to practice in Florida, where he applies the training he received at Stetson and the early lessons from his years at two Florida firms. He currently practices law in Florida, advising and representing clients across matters informed by his years in private practice.
