About Marshall S.

Marshall S. Tauber graduated from Michigan State University with a B.A. in Communications Arts & Science in 1973 and went on to earn his J.D. from Michigan State University's law school. His academic path kept him rooted in Michigan law and public life. The combination of communication and legal training shaped how he approaches courtroom work and instruction.

After law school he began practicing in Michigan and later established his own office. In 1983 he became principal of the Law Offices of Marshall S. Tauber. Over the decades he has maintained a steady presence in state courts, representing people accused of crimes and appearing in jurisdictions across Michigan.

Tauber has been active in professional organizations for much of his career. He joined the board of the Criminal Defense Lawyers of Michigan in 1992 and served as the organization’s president from 2003 to 2005. Since 2008 he has taught at the Criminal Defense Lawyers of Michigan Trial College, helping other lawyers refine trial techniques and courtroom strategy. In the mid-1990s he chaired the Criminal Law Committee of the Oakland County Bar Association, serving as chair from 1995 to 1996.

Teaching and leadership roles have figured prominently in his practice. His work on the Trial College places him regularly in front of peers as an instructor on trial procedure and advocacy. Colleagues turn to him for practical instruction on jury trials and courtroom preparation. He also remains engaged in local bar activities, contributing to programming and committees that address criminal practice and professional standards.

His courtroom work is grounded in trial experience and practical preparation. He handles criminal matters at various stages, from pretrial motions to jury trials. He has focused his professional life on defending people charged with crimes in Michigan courts and on training other defense lawyers in trial skills.

Tauber continues to operate his private practice in Michigan under the name he established in 1983. He balances client representation with teaching responsibilities and involvement in state and local defense organizations. He maintains a private practice in Michigan where he handles criminal defense matters.
