About Marques A.
Marques A. Eason began his academic path at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where he earned a B.A. in Sports Administration in 2000. A decade later he completed his legal education at Atlanta's John Marshall Law School, receiving his J.D. in 2010. The combination of a sports-administration undergraduate degree and a law degree shaped an unusual professional trajectory.
He moved into the business side of entertainment soon after law school. In 2012 he took on the role of Managing Director at Marques Eason Entertainment Group, LLC. That position placed him at the intersection of creative enterprise and legal planning. It also offered experience in managing projects and working with artists and entertainment-related clients.
In 2017 he founded The Marques Eason Law Group and serves as its managing lawyer. The firm represents clients in state and federal matters and conducts practice across Illinois and Georgia. He is admitted to the Illinois bar, the Georgia bar, and to practice before the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois. Those admissions enable him to handle filings and courtroom matters in both state and federal venues.
Eason maintains memberships across a range of professional organizations. He is a current member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association, the Chicago Bar Association, the Cook County Bar Association, the Black Bar Association of Will County, the Black Entertainment and Sports Lawyers Association, the Gate City Bar Association, and the Illinois Real Estate Lawyers Association. The list reflects ties to immigration, entertainment and sports, and real estate legal communities. He participates in those networks while running his practice and advising clients.
At the firm he oversees client matters and day-to-day operations. He combines the managerial experience from his entertainment work with legal practice to serve individuals and businesses. He handles filings, counseling and appearances that require both state and federal admission. He has led the firm since its founding and continues to supervise its legal work.
His current practice operates out of The Marques Eason Law Group and serves clients in Illinois and Georgia. He continues to work on matters involving immigration, entertainment and sports, and real estate law in both transactional and litigation settings.
