About Marlon L.

Marlon L. Monroe began his academic path at Howard University and continued at California State University, San Francisco State University, where he earned a B.A. He then completed his legal education at St. Thomas University School of Law, receiving a J.D. His training spans institutions on both coasts and set the stage for a practice licensed in more than one state.

After law school he established a practice of his own. In 2007 he founded The Monroe Firm. That step formalized his independent practice and marked the start of a firm that would carry his name for years. Running a small firm required handling both client matters and the administrative demands that come with managing an office.

In 2020 he expanded his entrepreneurial work by co-founding Grayson & Monroe, PLLC. That move added a partnership chapter to his career and reflected a shift from sole practitioner to collaborator. The co-founding role places him among the principals responsible for shaping the firm's direction and service model.

Beyond firm work, he has maintained active ties to the legal community. He holds membership in the Alameda County Bar Association and is a member of the National Bar Association. These memberships place him in professional networks that serve both local and broader legal conversations.

His career crosses two state bars. He is admitted to practice in California and in Florida. Those admissions have allowed him to carry a professional license across state lines and to maintain offices tied to his practice name. The Monroe Firm remains an identified office in his professional record.

Across more than a decade in practice he has moved between founding a firm and entering a partnership structure. The progression from law student to firm founder to co-founder demonstrates a career built around private practice and professional association involvement. He currently maintains an active practice and manages his office operations while attending to the work his clients bring. His present practice focuses on matters arising under his California and Florida admissions.
