About Marlene
Marlene Markowitz built a path to law that began in the classroom and moved quickly into practice. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from Florida International University. She followed that with a Juris Doctor from St. Thomas University School of Law, completing her law degree in 2011.
After law school, Markowitz entered private practice. She worked as an associate at Hermanni & Lorenzo Law Group in 2012. That role gave her front-line experience in client work and courtroom procedure. Within a few years she opened her own firm. Today she is the owner of Marlene Markowitz Law Offices, P.A., where she manages both casework and the daily operations of a small practice.
Markowitz is licensed to practice in Florida. Her professional memberships include the American Immigration Law Association, an organization that connects attorneys who handle immigration matters across the country. That membership aligns with the types of cases her office routinely handles.
Her legal work centers on immigration matters. She advises individuals and families on visas, adjustment of status, deportation defense, and related administrative procedures. Clients who come to her office often face time-sensitive deadlines and complex federal rules. She emphasizes careful preparation of filings and direct communication about process and expectations.
Colleagues describe her approach as pragmatic. She balances the paperwork-heavy side of immigration practice with client interviews and strategy sessions. That mix matters in cases where documentation and timing determine the outcome. She also handles appeals and administrative hearings when cases move beyond initial filings.
Outside the office she keeps ties to the legal community through association membership and professional events. She has maintained a steady presence in local practice since establishing her firm. The office itself is a small operation, focused on client service rather than rapid expansion. Markowitz oversees case strategy, client intake, and the mentoring of any junior staff who join the practice.
Her work is built on legal education and years of practice in Florida courts and immigration agencies. She continues to take on new matters through Marlene Markowitz Law Offices, P.A. and works with clients on a range of immigration issues. She currently practices immigration law from her office at Marlene Markowitz Law Offices, P.A.
