About Mark S.
Mark S. Anderson earned a B.S. from the University of Wisconsin–Madison in 2006 and continued his studies at the University of Baltimore School of Law, where he received his J.D. in 2011. His academic path moved from a large public university to a law school that places students close to state and federal courts. The chronology of degrees sets a clear timeline for an early legal career that began in New York.
Soon after law school, Anderson joined Steven Zalewski and Associates as of counsel in 2012. The role placed him in a small firm environment where he worked alongside established trial attorneys. Two years later he co-founded Anderson Shen P.C. and served as managing partner in 2014. That venture gave him front-line managerial experience and day-to-day responsibility for case development, staffing and client intake.
In 2016 he moved into another leadership post as managing partner at Shiryak, Bowman, Anderson, Gill and Kadochnikov LLP. The position added further administrative duties and oversight of a broader docket. Over time his practice shifted again and he joined Stephen Bilkis & Associates, where he currently works as a lawyer. His trajectory shows an attorney who has alternated between leadership roles and hands-on courtroom work.
Anderson is admitted to practice in New York and is also admitted to the United States District Court for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York. He maintains membership in the Queens County Bar Association and the New York State Bar Association, groups that keep him tied to local and statewide developments in practice and procedure. Those affiliations suggest regular engagement with continuing legal education and local professional networks.
His resume reflects experience in several firm settings: small boutique practice, a co-founding managing role and service as managing partner at a larger firm. Each setting required different skills—case strategy, firm administration and client relations. He has worked in both state and federal forums and has managed teams of lawyers and support staff.
Colleagues and clients have encountered Anderson in court filings, hearings and settlement conferences across New York. He continues to accept matters through Stephen Bilkis & Associates and appears in both state and federal courts. He currently represents clients in matters brought in New York state and federal courts and conducts litigation and transactional work at Stephen Bilkis & Associates.
