About Mark
Mark Laverdiere trained in Maine. He attended the University of Maine School of Law beginning in 2009 and earned his J.D. in 2012. The courtroom and the law school corridors shaped his early approach to practice.
After graduation he served as a judicial law clerk to the Maine Superior Court in 2012. That year inside the courthouse gave him a close view of trial procedure, evidentiary rulings and the pacing of contested matters. He later moved into private practice and into roles that placed him in local bar organizations and professional programs.
Laverdiere is active in several legal associations. He has been a member of the Maine Bar Association since 2011 and joined the John Waldo Ballou Inn of Court in 2012. He holds membership in the Penobscot County Bar Association and the Maine Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, both since 2014. He also served in an ex officio capacity with the Gignoux Inn of Court from 2011 to 2012. In 2015 he was listed among Super Lawyers’ New England Rising Stars, an affiliation that appears on his professional record.
His background reflects a steady presence in Maine’s legal community. The clerkship gave him procedural insight. Work in county and state associations broadened his connections. The Inn of Court memberships point to an interest in mentor-and-peer discussion about trial craft and ethics.
He is currently associated with the firm Rudman Winchell. At the firm he has taken on matters that align with criminal defense practice, drawing on courtroom experience and the network he has built through local bar activity. Colleagues describe him as one who prepares cases for trial and engages in the motions and negotiations that often precede them.
Laverdiere balances case work with continuing involvement in professional groups. He remains based in Maine and maintains an active presence in county and statewide legal circles. He practices criminal defense and related matters.
