Mark Jerry Haushalter is a licensed attorney admitted to practice law in both Illinois and California. He was admitted to the Illinois State Bar in 2001 and to the California State Bar in 2000, holding. His license is currently in active status. Mr. Haushalter is a partner at Okabe & Haushalter, a law firm specializing in criminal defense, located in Manhattan Beach, California. He has been practicing law for over 25 years, representing clients in both state and federal courts across Southern California.
Mr. Haushalter earned his Juris Doctor degree from the McGeorge School of Law at the University of the Pacific, graduating in 1999. Prior to law school, he completed his undergraduate studies at Marquette University, obtaining a degree in 1996. During his time at McGeorge School of Law, he was involved in various legal clinics and externships, gaining practical experience in criminal law.
Mr. Haushalter's practice focuses on criminal defense, handling a wide range of cases including sex crimes, child pornography, lewd conduct, molestation, statutory rape, DUI, fraud, domestic violence, drug offenses, theft, and murder. He represents clients at all stages of the legal process, from initial consultations and pre-trial motions to trial proceedings and appeals. His extensive experience encompasses both state and federal criminal cases.
Throughout his career, Mr. Haushalter has been admitted to practice before several courts, including the Superior Court of California for the County of Los Angeles, the United States District Court for the Central District of California, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. He has also appeared before the California Court of Appeal on multiple occasions. Prior to founding his own firm, he worked as an associate at a mid-size litigation firm in Century City for five years.
Mr. Haushalter is an active member of several professional organizations, including the Los Angeles County Bar Association, the Beverly Hills Bar Association, and the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers. He is also a member of the Los Angeles Bar Association Criminal Law Section and the California State Bar Association Criminal Law Section. Additionally, he holds membership in the Illinois State Bar.
