Mark Alan Lemley is a licensed attorney admitted to practice law in the State of California. He was admitted to the California State Bar in 1991 and holds bar number 155830. His license is currently in active status. Mr. Lemley is a partner at Lex Lumina PLLC, a law firm specializing in intellectual property, antitrust, and internet law, located in Stanford, California. Mr. Lemley earned his Juris Doctor degree from the University of California, Berkeley School of Law in 1991, where he graduated first in his class and was a member of the Order of the Coif. Prior to law school, he completed his undergraduate education at Stanford University, receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and Political Science in 1988. During his time at Stanford, he was awarded the John G. Sobieski Prize in Economics and was a Truman Scholar.

Throughout his career, Mr. Lemley has handled cases in the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, the United States District Court for the Northern District of California, and the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Texas. He has also appeared before the California Supreme Court and the California Court of Appeal on multiple occasions. Prior to founding his own firm, he worked as an associate at Brown & Bain, Fish & Richardson, and Keker & Van Nest.
Mr. Lemley is an active member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, the American Law Institute, and the IP Hall of Fame. He has been recognized as one of the top 50 litigators in the country under 45 and one of the 25 most influential people in IP by The American Lawyer. He has also been named one of the 100 most influential lawyers in the nation by The National Law Journal and one of the 10 most admired attorneys in IP by IP360. He is fluent in English and has a working knowledge of Spanish, allowing him to serve a diverse clientele effectively.
