About Mark A.

Mark A. Miller trained at two Midwestern schools that have long supplied lawyers to courts across the country. He earned a B.A. in political science and economics from the University of Michigan in 1969 and took his law degree from Northwestern University School of Law in 1975. Those credentials set the stage for a practice spanning state and federal courts in more than one jurisdiction.

Early in his career he moved between Illinois and Florida courts. He is admitted in Illinois and Florida, and he has argued matters in federal forums including the U.S. District Courts for the Northern District of Illinois and the Southern District of Florida. He is also admitted to practice before the U.S. 7th Circuit Court of Appeals and the U.S. Supreme Court. Court admissions of that kind allow him to handle matters at both trial and appellate levels.

His recorded employment history includes time at the office of Bruce L. Scheiner in 2008. He is listed in association with that office, and his current recorded office affiliation remains Bruce L. Scheiner. Over the years he has maintained ties to organized bar groups. He is a member of the Florida State Bar and The Florida Bar. He also holds membership in the Broward County Trial Lawyers Association, the Florida Justice Association, and the American Association for Justice.

Colleagues describe him as a lawyer who has worked across jurisdictions and court levels. He has experience entering dockets in state courts and moving into federal appellate courts when cases require it. That range of admissions has kept him involved in litigation that crosses state and federal lines and in proceedings that reach higher appellate review.

His educational background and admissions create a profile of a practitioner comfortable operating in multiple venues. He has the academic foundation of a 1969 undergraduate degree followed by a 1975 law degree, and he uses that training in practice that touches both Illinois and Florida law. Memberships in trial and justice associations indicate continuing engagement with the legal community and with issues that arise in contested litigation.

He currently practices at Bruce L. Scheiner and handles matters in state and federal courts, including appeals before the Seventh Circuit and filings that may reach the U.S. Supreme Court.
