About Mark A.

Mark A. Gallagher has built a legal career that moves from public service to private practice. He earned his law degree in 2000 and went straight into courtroom work. Six years later he opened his own office to continue that work on his own terms.

Gallagher completed his undergraduate studies at the University of San Diego, receiving a B.A. in Philosophy in 1996. He then attended Pepperdine University School of Law and received his J.D. in 2000. Those academic years set the stage for a practice grounded in trial experience and courtroom procedure.

Upon graduation, Gallagher joined the Orange County Public Defender’s Office as a deputy public defender. In that role he represented clients in criminal matters at various stages of proceedings. The position provided regular trial exposure and experience handling the pressures of courtroom advocacy.

After several years in public defense, Gallagher moved into private practice. He spent time as an associate at Wallin & Klarich in 2005. The following year he founded the Law Offices of Mark A. Gallagher. Since 2006 he has managed his practice and handled a range of matters that have taken him through state courts and into federal court when appropriate.

Gallagher is licensed by the State Bar of California and is a member of the Orange County Bar Association. He is also admitted to the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of California. Those credentials reflect ongoing ties to the local bar and the ability to represent clients in both state and certain federal forums.

His practice history shows continuity: courtroom work at the outset, a period in a private firm setting, then the steady course of an independent practice. Colleagues and clients see him most often in the context of contested proceedings where prior public defense work and subsequent private practice experience intersect.

He currently practices at the Law Offices of Mark A. Gallagher, representing clients in matters in California and in the Southern District of California federal court where he is admitted.
