About Marion
Marion Munley trained at the University of Scranton and then at Temple University Beasley School of Law, earning her J.D. in 1986. She pursued studies at Trinity College and the London School of Economics. Marywood University awarded her an honorary Doctorate of Humane Letters. Her academic path combined regional roots and international study, and it set the stage for a career in courtroom advocacy.
She is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania and New York, and she is admitted to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit. She serves as a partner at Munley Law. Over decades in practice she has taken on high-stakes civil trials and handled complex litigation at both state and federal levels. She is comfortable in the courtroom and in appellate settings.
Her professional affiliations reflect a concentration on trial work. She is a Senior Fellow of the Litigation Counsel of America and a member of the International Society of Barristers. She serves on the Board of Governors of the Pennsylvania Association for Justice and participates on its Legislative Policy Committee. She is an Advocate of the American Board of Trial Advocates and a Board Certified Advocate of the National Board of Trial Advocacy. She sits on the Board of Regents of the Academy of Truck Accident Lawyers and holds the office of Parliamentarian for the American Association for Justice. Since 2022 she has been President of the Melvin M. Belli Society. She is also a member of The Summit Council.
Those roles underscore the trial-centered work that has occupied much of her career. Colleagues seek her out for jury trials and complex coordination among experts, counsel, and clients. Her participation in trial organizations has involved mentoring, committee work, and contributions to standards for courtroom practice. That mix of practice and organizational involvement has kept her connected to developments in tort and trial procedure.
She divides her time between Munley Law’s offices, including the firm’s Wilkes-Barre location, and the firm’s other regional offices. At Munley Law she handles civil trial litigation, including catastrophic-injury and truck-accident matters, and she represents clients in state and federal courts. Her current practice centers on trial work and appellate representation in serious personal-injury cases.
