About Marie
Marie Napoli built a layered legal education before settling into private practice. She earned her J.D. from St. John’s University School of Law, followed by an LL.M. from New York University School of Law. In 2024 she completed a second LL.M., this one in Environmental Law from Lewis & Clark Law School.
Her academic path reflects a blend of traditional training and specialized study. The J.D. provided the groundwork in litigation and legal analysis. The graduate studies at NYU expanded that foundation. The environmental law degree added a concentrated course of study that intersects regulatory, scientific and policy questions.
She became a partner at Napoli Shkolnik PLLC in 2015. That title marks a long-term professional commitment to the firm and its clients. At Napoli Shkolnik she has worked on matters handled through the firm’s multiple offices. Those locations include New York City, Long Island, California, Delaware, Miami, New Jersey, Illinois, Texas, Ohio, Michigan and Kansas. Her role has involved coordinating with attorneys in different jurisdictions and contributing to cases that require cross-office collaboration.
Napoli is admitted to practice in New York. Her practice blends the skills learned in her law school years and in advanced study of environmental law. She applies regulatory analysis, statutory interpretation and investigation to the matters she handles. Colleagues describe her as methodical in preparation and exacting in document review. She tends to approach problems by breaking complex issues into manageable parts and then testing each piece against relevant law and evidence.
Outside of casework, she maintains professional memberships. Those affiliations keep her connected to developments in both general legal practice and specialized environmental law. She has continued to engage in continuing legal education to keep current on statutory changes and emerging court decisions.
Her mix of credentials—two LL.M. degrees and a J.D.—shapes how she evaluates disputes and regulatory questions. It has also given her a framework for advising clients about layered legal problems where environmental rules intersect with other areas of law. She practices through Napoli Shkolnik PLLC and concentrates her current work on matters arising under New York law and on issues that implicate environmental regulation and related litigation.
