About Margaret
Margaret Boyle is an attorney admitted to practice in Washington and in several federal forums, including the Ninth Circuit and both the Eastern and Western Districts of Washington. She appears regularly in those courts and handles matters that require litigation in state and federal venues.
After law school she began practicing in the Pacific Northwest. Her early work involved litigation in state courts and federal district courts. Over time she expanded her practice to include appellate work in the Ninth Circuit. That mix of trial and appellate experience informs how she approaches cases today.
Her courtroom work has taken her to the federal courthouses that sit in both eastern and western Washington. She files and defends suits in the Eastern District of Washington and in the Western District of Washington, and she has pursued appeals and responded to appeals before the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. She also handles matters in Washington state courts when cases have state-law components.
Clients find the practical edge of someone who understands both the local and federal rules. Boyle prepares pleadings, handles discovery disputes, argues motions, and conducts bench and jury trials when necessary. On appeal she prepares briefs and presents oral argument. The work requires attention to procedure and to the differing standards that govern trial courts and appellate panels.
Outside of court appearances, she coordinates with experts, manages witness preparation, and navigates settlement negotiations when resolution serves her clients’ interests. She adapts strategies as a case moves from fact gathering to dispositive motion practice and, where required, to trial or appeal. That adaptability is part of managing complex matters that cross from state into federal jurisdiction.
She maintains an active practice in Washington and in the federal courts listed above. Her current practice focuses on representing clients in state and federal litigation and in appeals in the Ninth Circuit and the United States District Courts for the Eastern and Western Districts of Washington.
