About Mallory K.
Mallory K. Harper built a practical path into law that began in the classroom and moved quickly into courtrooms. She earned a bachelor’s degree in sociology from Auburn University in 2013. She then completed both a J.D. and an LL.M. at Thomas Goode Jones School of Law at Faulkner University, finishing her law degrees in 2016. The LL.M. concentrated on advocacy and alternative dispute resolution.
Her early legal work included court-appointed appellate service for the State of Alabama in 2018. That role placed her inside the appellate process and offered regular experience drafting briefs and arguing procedural issues. It also gave her a window into appellate practice beyond the trial court level.
Harper holds admissions in Alabama and Georgia and is admitted to practice before the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit. Those credentials allow her to move between state and federal appellate work when cases require it. She has combined those admissions with a certification that expands the types of court work she can accept.
She is a certified Guardian ad Litem in the State of Alabama. In that capacity she has been appointed by courts to represent the interests of children and other parties in need of independent advocacy. The certification is a recognized credential in family court and related proceedings, and it shapes part of the caseload she accepts.
In 2023 she opened Mallory Harper Law. She runs the firm as a solo practitioner and takes on matters that reflect her training in advocacy and dispute resolution. The firm’s work has included appellate filings, court-appointed responsibilities, and cases that require an understanding of both courtroom advocacy and negotiated outcomes. Her LL.M. study in alternative dispute resolution informs the ways she approaches settlement discussions and mediated sessions.
Colleagues describe her style in court as straightforward. She writes plainly in filings and prefers clear legal argument over dense prose. She also continues to accept appointments that ask for a neutral, court-directed role, such as guardian ad litem work. She maintains an active practice in the jurisdictions where she is admitted.
She currently operates Mallory Harper Law, handling appellate matters, guardian ad litem appointments and alternative dispute resolution.
