About Barbara H.

Barbara H. Agricola built a foundation in law through consecutive study and practical exposure. She earned her J.D. from the University of Alabama School of Law after completing a B.A. at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, where she studied political science, philosophy and law. Those academic years formed the core of a legal approach that blends careful analysis with courtroom readiness.

Early in her career Agricola spent several years in federal clerkships. In 2010 she clerked for Judge William M. Acker Jr. of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Alabama. The next year she served as a law clerk to Judge Joel F. Dubina on the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals. In 2013 she worked for Chief Judge W. Keith Watkins of the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Alabama. The sequence exposed her to trial and appellate procedures and to the workings of three distinct federal benches.

She moved into private practice after those clerkships. In 2012 she was an associate at Jemison & Mendelsohn, where she handled litigation matters and client counseling. Two years later she established Agricola Law and became a partner and owner. Since founding the firm in 2014 she has handled a range of civil litigation and regulatory matters, often representing clients in federal court and before administrative bodies.

Agricola is admitted to practice in Alabama and Georgia and is also admitted to the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals. Her credentialing includes a Lead Counsel verification. She holds memberships in both the Alabama State Bar and the Georgia State Bar, and she participates in professional and civic organizations such as the Columbus Inn of Court, the Opelika Rotary Club, and local chambers of commerce in Auburn and Opelika. Those affiliations reflect ongoing engagement with the legal community and with regional business organizations.

Colleagues describe her as methodical in preparation and steady under pressure. She draws on courtroom experience and the perspective gained from federal clerkships when shaping case strategy. At Agricola Law she oversees case intake and litigation strategy, and she routinely appears in state and federal courts where her admissions apply. Her practice concentrates on civil litigation and appellate representation, including matters filed in the Eleventh Circuit and in Alabama and Georgia state courts.

She maintains an active practice through Agricola Law where she handles litigation and appellate matters for business and individual clients in the region.
