About Majdel S.

Majdel S. Musa graduated from Western Michigan University Cooley Law School with a J.D. in 2001 after earning a B.A. in political science from the University of Illinois at Chicago in 1996. Her academic path combined a traditional study of law with an interest in public affairs, a background that shaped the early choices in her legal career.

She entered practice in the early 2000s and took on leadership roles soon after. In 2004 she served as president of Musa Law Offices, PC. She was a partner at Amal Law Group, LLC in 2007. Two years later she became president of Musa Law Office, Ltd, a role listed beginning in 2009.

Musa is admitted to practice in Illinois and is also admitted before the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois and the U.S. Supreme Court. Those admissions reflect a practice that spans state and federal matters. Her professional experience has intersected with consumer bankruptcy work and real estate issues, as suggested by her long-standing memberships in related bar and specialty associations.

Her professional memberships are extensive and span local, state and national organizations. She has been a member of the National Association of Consumer Bankruptcy Lawyers since 2009. She joined the Illinois State Treasurer’s Community Affairs Council in 2009 and has remained involved. Her participation in the Chicago Commission on Human Relations Advisory Council on Arab Affairs dates to 2005. Musa has also held memberships in the American Bar Association, the Illinois State Bar Association, the Chicago Bar Association and the Illinois Real Estate Lawyers Association since 2004. From 2005 to 2008 she served as charter president of the LaGrange Lions Club, an early example of her engagement in community groups.

Her record shows a mix of private practice leadership and civic engagement across more than two decades. She maintains a practice through Musa Law Office, Ltd and continues to participate in professional and community organizations that intersect with consumer bankruptcy and real estate work. Her current practice focuses on matters in Illinois as well as cases that may proceed in federal court and in filings that require admission to higher courts.
