About Maggie
Maggie Diefenbach began her legal path at Pacific Lutheran University, where she finished her undergraduate degree in 1997. She went on to earn her J.D. from the University of Southern California in 2000. Those years set the foundation for a practice grounded in courtroom procedure and client counseling.
She is admitted to the Washington State Bar and to the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Washington. Those admissions have shaped the arc of her career, allowing her to handle matters at both the state and federal levels. Colleagues describe her as steady in litigation settings and clear in written advocacy.
Diefenbach became a partner at Gordon Thomas Honeywell LLP in 2015. She spent several years there working across the firm’s matters, moving between courtroom appearances and client meetings. Her time at the firm included roles that blended case supervision, briefing and strategy. She worked out of the firm’s Washington offices and took on work that required coordination across practice teams.
In 2023 she joined Tandem Law as a partner. The move followed nearly a decade at Gordon Thomas Honeywell and reflected a change in professional setting rather than an abrupt shift in practice. At Tandem Law she continued to represent clients in proceedings before state tribunals and in federal court. She also handled pretrial motion work and client counseling on procedural and substantive issues.
Her professional record shows a steady progression from new lawyer to partner-level responsibilities. The path is marked by courtroom appearances, written motions and client-facing practice. She has maintained active admission in the regional federal court, which informs the way she approaches jurisdictional and procedural questions.
Outside the courtroom she has stayed connected to the legal community in Washington. That engagement has included mentoring junior lawyers and participating in internal firm initiatives to streamline case management. Those efforts reflected a practical approach to improving how teams prepare for litigation and client service.
As of 2026 Maggie Diefenbach practices at Tandem Law, where she focuses on representing clients in both Washington state courts and the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Washington.
