About Magdalena
Magdalena Chattopadhya earned her Juris Doctor from California Western School of Law in 2012. She completed her legal training in Southern California courts and firms, then moved into practice shortly thereafter. Her education laid the groundwork for a career that has combined courtroom work and client counsel.
While still in law school she took on substantive roles that exposed her to litigation and federal court procedure. In 2011 she was a legal intern at Robbins Geller Rudman & Dowd LLP. The following year she served as a judicial extern for the United States District Court for the Southern District of California. She also worked as a litigation assistant at Fenwick & West in 2012.
In 2013 she began practicing as a lawyer at Magdalena Law Group. Over the years she pursued professional credentials that reflect courtroom work in family law. She is Board Certified as a Family Law Specialist by the State Bar of California Board of Legal Specialization. She also holds Board Certified Family Law Trial Advocate status from the National Board of Trial Advocacy. Those certifications indicate specialized training and experience in family law litigation and trial procedure.
Outside of casework she has remained active in professional organizations. Since 2014 she has held memberships in the American Bar Association Family Law Section Young Lawyers Committee and the ABA Young Lawyers Division. She is also a member of the Santa Clara County Bar Association Domestic Violence Committee and an associate member of the Santa Clara County Psychological Association. These affiliations reflect an interest in the intersection of legal practice, domestic relations, and the psychological issues that can arise in family disputes.
Her practice centers on family law matters. She represents clients in dissolutions, custody and visitation disputes, support issues, and related contested hearings. Her trial credentials inform courtroom strategy and preparation. She works with experts and professionals when cases raise complex financial or psychological questions, and she continues to handle litigation and settlement efforts as circumstances require.
Magdalena Chattopadhya maintains her practice in California and remains engaged in continuing education and professional activities tied to family law. Her current work is concentrated on family law litigation and trial advocacy.
