About Kelly
Kelly Wynne completed her legal education at Santa Clara University School of Law, earning her J.D. in 2022. She earned a B.A. in Political Science from North Carolina State University in 2015. Those years frame a path that moved from state government support roles into courtroom and community work.
Her early legal career began in support and public-sector roles. In 2019 she worked as a paralegal for the North Carolina Department of Transportation. While in law school she held several clerk and extern positions. In 2020 she served as a Bay Office legal extern with East Bay Family Defenders and as a summer law clerk for the County of Santa Cruz. She followed that with a 2021 law clerk placement at the Law Office of Toby Adams.
After passing through those training posts, Wynne joined the Law Office of Toby Adams as a lawyer in 2022. In that role she transitioned from a supporting position to direct legal work. Her time there involved client intake, drafting pleadings and supporting litigation tasks. The move illustrated a common early-career progression: learning through close mentorship, then taking on fuller responsibility for case management.
In 2023 she took a position as a staff lawyer at Elevate Community Center. The title indicates a shift toward public-facing and community-oriented practice. Her duties have included representing clients, participating in community outreach and assisting in clinic-style legal services. That work builds on her prior experience in both county government and nonprofit defender settings.
Wynne is licensed to practice in California. She combines experience from government, nonprofit and small firm settings. She favors direct client contact and practical case management. She currently works as a staff lawyer at Elevate Community Center, where her practice centers on community-based legal services and client representation in California.
