About Lukas I
Lukas I Pick earned his undergraduate degree in English from the University of California, Santa Barbara in 2003. He then completed his law degree at the University of San Diego School of Law in 2007. Those years in school framed his interest in courtroom work and consumer-facing litigation. They also gave him the academic training common to litigators who handle complex claims and evidentiary disputes.
After law school Pick joined Walton Law Office, where he has practiced for years. He is admitted to practice in California and Nevada and holds admission in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of California. That mix of state and federal credentials allows him to pursue cases in multiple forums and to file federal actions when statutory or constitutional issues are at stake.
His professional affiliations reflect the issues that populate his caseload. He holds memberships in Consumer Lawyers of California, California Advocates for Nursing Home Reform, and the National Consumer Voice for Quality Long-Term Care. Those organizations focus on consumer protection and the legal rights of older adults and long-term care residents. Pick’s participation in those groups tracks with the kinds of claims he brings and defends in court.
In practice he handles litigation that ranges from consumer protection and unfair business practices to disputes involving nursing homes and long-term care providers. He represents individuals seeking redress for contract and consumer-law violations, as well as people and families pursuing accountability for substandard care. His work involves pleadings, device discovery, motions practice, and trials when cases proceed that far. He represents plaintiffs and, when matters require, pursues remedies available under both state statutes and federal law.
Pick operates out of Walton Law Office’s regional locations, including offices in San Diego, North County, Las Vegas and a main office. He meets with clients in those offices and appears in state and federal court as cases demand. He currently handles consumer protection claims and matters involving nursing home and long-term care issues.
