About Luis Manuel Paredes
Luis Manuel Paredes Jr earned his law degree from Texas Tech University School of Law, completing his J.D. in 2009. He also holds a bachelor’s degree in international business from St. Edward’s University. Those academic years set the groundwork for a career that has moved between courtroom filings, day-to-day office management and volunteer legal work.
Early in his professional life Paredes gained practical experience in Central Texas. He served as a volunteer lawyer for Volunteer Legal Services of Central Texas from 2012 to 2013, assisting members of the community who needed legal help. That year of pro bono work came just before he stepped into a management role at his own firm.
In 2013 he became the managing lawyer at Manuel Paredes Law Office, PLLC. The title reflects both an operational role and case responsibility. He oversees the firm’s daily operations and handles client matters. The position requires balancing administrative duties and legal work. Paredes has moved between those tasks while maintaining his practice.
Paredes is admitted to practice in Texas and before the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Texas. Those admissions shape the kinds of matters he can bring for clients and the forums in which he appears. He prepares filings for state and federal dockets and coordinates the procedural steps that federal practice demands.
Colleagues and clients describe his day-to-day work in practical terms: managing case files, preparing pleadings, and appearing on behalf of clients in hearings. He works in a small-office setting, where lawyers often wear many hats. That environment influences how he approaches client service and case management.
Outside courtroom calendars and office files, Paredes’ volunteer service is a noted part of his early career. His stint with Volunteer Legal Services of Central Texas placed him in direct contact with clients facing financial or legal barriers. Those cases gave him early exposure to the kinds of civil matters that frequently arise in local practice.
Today he continues to practice at Manuel Paredes Law Office, PLLC. He represents clients in matters in Texas and in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Texas.
