About Lori
Lori Palmieri earned her J.D. from Stetson University College of Law in 1988. She entered the legal profession at a time when courtroom experience was often the quickest route to mastery, and she moved into public service early in her career.
After law school she took a position as an assistant state lawyer in 1990. That role placed her in regular contact with trial work and case preparation. In 1995 she joined Austin, Roe, Ley & Patsko, P.A. as an associate lawyer, a period that broadened her exposure to litigation in both state and local forums.
Her prosecutorial trajectory continued in 1996 when she became an Assistant Statewide Prosecutor. The statewide post involved handling complex criminal matters and working on cases that crossed county lines. She returned to the Office of the State Lawyer in 2000 for another spell as an assistant state lawyer, reinforcing courtroom skills she had developed over the previous decade.
In 2003 she opened her own firm, Lori D. Palmieri, P.A. Running a solo practice shifted some of her daily work from litigation to law office management, client intake, and strategic case planning. It also kept her rooted in trial practice. She has maintained the firm since its founding and handled a wide range of criminal matters there.
Palmieri holds Board Certification in Criminal Trial Law from The Florida Bar. That credential recognizes attorneys who have met standards for experience and knowledge in criminal trial practice. Her certification complements her years of time spent on both the prosecution side and in private practice.
She is admitted to practice in the State of Florida and before the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit. Those admissions allow her to represent clients at trial and to handle appeals within the regional federal appellate system. Her career reflects a steady move through public office and private practice, with repeated returns to trial work.
Colleagues and court staff who have worked with her note a pragmatic courtroom style and an emphasis on clear preparation. She balances litigation work with the responsibilities of running a small firm. Her current practice focuses on criminal trial matters in Florida and in proceedings before the Eleventh Circuit.
