About Chris
Chris Beardslee graduated from Florida State University College of Law in 2012. His time in Tallahassee coincided with hands-on work in the courts. In 2011 he served in the 2nd Judicial District as a public defender, an early experience that put him in regular contact with judges, prosecutors and clients facing criminal charges.
After law school he spent time in private practice. In 2014 he worked at The Law Office of Ron Sholes, P.A., where he handled a range of criminal matters and learned the routines of trial preparation. That role was a transitional step. A year later he opened The Law Office of Chris Beardslee, LLC and began practicing under his own firm name.
Beardslee’s career has been concentrated in Florida. He maintains memberships in professional organizations that reflect his areas of activity, including the National College for DUI Defense and the Florida Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers. Those affiliations keep him current on changes in DUI law and trial tactics, and they put him in contact with peers who handle similar cases around the state.
His courtroom work covers typical criminal defense tasks: arraignments, plea negotiations, pretrial motions and trials. He represents clients charged in state court on offenses that range from misdemeanor driving offenses to more serious criminal allegations. The record shows a pattern of representing individuals through the full lifecycle of a case, from initial custody matters to sentencing hearings when required.
Colleagues and opposing counsel describe him as someone who understands the procedural side of criminal practice. He relies on preparation and repetition to manage the file load that comes with running a small firm. In smaller offices like his, the attorney often wears many hats: investigator, client counselor, motion writer and trial advocate. Those are the tasks Beardslee has carried since establishing his practice.
Over the years he has balanced courtroom work with the administrative demands of private practice. He continues to accept cases in Florida and remains active in professional circles that center on DUI defense and criminal law. In his current practice he represents clients in criminal matters, including DUI and other state charges.
