About Lori Carver

Lori Carver Hershorin is a seasoned trial attorney and managing partner at Hershorin & Henry LLP in Lake Forest, California. With over 30 years of experience, she specializes in business law, real estate, employment law, insurance defense, and appellate litigation. She was admitted to the State Bar of California in 1991. Ms. Hershorin earned her Juris Doctor from the Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law in 1991, where she served as a Note Development Editor for the Indiana Law Review and was inducted into the Order of Barristers. She completed her undergraduate studies at Indiana University, Bloomington, earning a Bachelor of Science in 1986.

Before founding Hershorin & Henry LLP in 2003, Ms. Hershorin began her legal career at McDermott, Will & Emery, focusing on fraud, contract disputes, employment issues, and real property matters. She then joined Lewis, D’Amato, Brisbois & Bisgaard, concentrating on mortgage fraud, real estate, and breach of contract litigation. In 1995, she transitioned to Fidelity National Title Insurance Company as Assistant Vice-President and Associate Counsel, handling numerous cases involving real property, fraud, breach of fiduciary duty, insurance bad faith, and complex business disputes. By 2000, she was promoted to Vice-President, Senior Litigation Counsel, and Litigation Manager for the Southwestern Region, overseeing litigation departments in Southern California and Las Vegas. At Hershorin & Henry LLP, Ms. Hershorin manages a diverse caseload, including escrow disputes, title insurance claims, real estate issues, and business litigation.

She has successfully handled over 40 appeals, maintaining a high success rate. Her appellate experience includes significant cases such as Magna Enterprises v. Fidelity National Title Insurance Co. (2002) 104 Cal.App.4th 122, which addressed the definition of "lack of access" under a title insurance policy, and Markowitz v. Fidelity National Title Insurance Company (2006) 142 Cal. App. 4th 508, concerning sub-escrow duties.

In addition to her litigation practice, Ms. Hershorin is a certified court mediator for Orange, Los Angeles. Riverside counties and serves as an arbitrator for the Orange County and Riverside County Bar Associations' attorney fee disputes. She frequently speaks on topics related to fraud, alternative dispute resolution, escrow, title insurance. Litigation issues. Ms. Hershorin has been recognized for her professional achievements, including being named "Woman of the Year" by the National Association of Professional Women in 2010 and 2011, and being listed among the top 100 lawyers in the United States by The New York Times in 2018.
