About Lonnie
Lonnie Roach is a trial attorney based in Texas who has spent decades handling civil litigation and personal injury cases. He brings courtroom experience before federal and state courts and has been active in local and statewide trial lawyer organizations. Roach earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Texas at Austin in 1991. He entered the State Bar of Texas the same year and began building a practice that would soon include both trial work and appellate advocacy. By 1993 Roach had become a partner in the firm Bemis, Roach & Reed. He has since tried cases and handled appeals in a range of venues. His admissions include the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit, all U.S. District Courts in Texas, and all state courts of Texas. That combination of trial and appellate credentials has shaped the way he prepares cases: careful on the record, ready to argue legal issues on appeal if necessary.
Roach holds certification in Personal Injury Trial Law from the Texas State Bar. That credential recognizes trial experience and peer review in the personal injury arena. His work has emphasized proving liability and damages for injured plaintiffs, shepherding cases from initial investigation through trial. He has also been involved in pretrial motion practice and post-trial proceedings when cases required further litigation.
Outside the courtroom Roach has remained active in professional associations. He has been a member of the State Bar of Texas since 1991. He has served on the Capital Area Trial Lawyers Association board as a director from 1999 to 2005. He is also listed as a current member of the Texas Trial Lawyers Association and the Austin Bar Association. Those roles have kept him connected to developments in trial practice and to other lawyers in his region.
Roach continues to practice at Bemis, Roach & Reed. He maintains an active civil trial docket and represents clients in personal injury matters, federal and state litigation, and related appellate work.
