About Lloyd Clayton
Lloyd Clayton Suhr earned his undergraduate degree at Jamestown College, completing a B.A. in Pre-Law in 1994. He went on to the University of North Dakota School of Law and received his J.D. in 1997. Those academic years established the foundation for a career centered on courtroom work and criminal defense.
After law school, Suhr built a practice in North Dakota. He is admitted to practice in the state and is also authorized to appear before the U.S. Supreme Court. Over the years he has handled a range of matters that arise in state criminal courts. His work includes DUI-related cases and other criminal defense matters that require trial preparation and courtroom advocacy.
Suhr is active in professional organizations that align with his work. Since 2014 he has been a member of the National College of DUI Defense, the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, and the North Dakota Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers. He also maintains a professional membership that dates back to 1997. Those affiliations connect him to continuing education, peer networks, and specialized training in defense practice.
He is based at Suhr & Lofgren, P.L.L.C., where he represents clients in criminal and DUI-related matters. His practice involves pretrial investigation, motion work, negotiation, and trial representation in state courts. He handles cases that range from routine traffic-based offenses to more complex criminal charges. He currently practices criminal defense and DUI defense at Suhr & Lofgren, P.L.L.C.
