About Lindsey R
Lindsey R Buchheit built her legal foundation in Nebraska. She earned a B.A. in English and Political Science from Nebraska Wesleyan University, then completed her J.D. at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln. Those studies set a straight path into courtroom procedure, client counseling and the paperwork that keeps businesses and families moving.
Her early years in the law involved hands-on clerking. In 2005 she worked as a law clerk at Rembolt Ludtke, LLP, and the following year she served as a law clerk at Corbett, Anderson, Corbett, Vellinga & Irvin, LLP. She joined that firm as an associate in 2007, taking on increasingly responsible work and courtroom assignments. In 2009 she moved to Goosmann Law Office, PLC where she continued to broaden her trial and transactional experience.
In 2013 Buchheit opened her own firm, Buchheit Law, PLC, and has run it since then. Operating a small firm meant shifting between courtroom advocacy, document drafting and the business tasks of running a practice. Clients have dealt with her in hearings, mediations and estate planning meetings, and her practice reflects a mix of civil matters that include family law, probate and small business issues.
Her peers have recognized her through a BV rating from Martindel Hubbell, an indication that other lawyers and judges have evaluated aspects of her legal ability and professional conduct. That peer recognition sits alongside long-term involvement in regional legal organizations, where she has served in leadership and representative roles.
Buchheit maintains active memberships in the Nebraska State Bar Association, the South Dakota State Bar Association and the American Bar Association. Since 2008 she has been involved with the Siouxland Estate Planning Council and served as its president. She has represented the Iowa Organization of Women Lawyers (I.O.W.A.) as a 3rd Judicial District Representative since 2008. Her work with the Iowa State Bar Association began with the Young Lawyers Division probate committee in 2007 and later expanded to the Family Law Committee, on which she has served since 2014. She joined the board of the Iowa Small Business Development Centers in 2014 and has served as secretary of the Sergeant Bluff Community Development Corporation since 2013.
She is licensed to practice in Nebraska, South Dakota and Iowa and manages a multi-jurisdictional practice from her office at Buchheit Law, PLC. She continues to handle family law, probate, estate planning and small business matters across those states.
