About Lindsay K.
Lindsay K. Nickolls earned a law degree from Cleveland State University in 2005 after completing a Master of Social Work at the University of Michigan in 2001 and a Bachelor of Arts at Pennsylvania State University, Wilkes-Barre, in 1999. Her educational path combined legal studies and social work, equipping her to approach legal problems with attention to both law and human services.
Her early career began in social services. She worked as a substance abuse counselor intern at Pathway Family Center in 2000 and served as a primary family counselor at Common Ground Sanctuary in 2001. Those roles preceded her legal training and informed her perspective when she served as a clinic student in an Employment Law Clinic in 2005. She entered private practice as an associate lawyer in 2007 at The Law Office of Victoria, P.L.L.C., and later worked at Nichols, Sacks, Slank, Sendelbach & Buiteweg, PC in 2009.
In 2012 she opened The Nickolls Law Office LLC, where she serves as lawyer and mediator. She holds certifications as a Guardian Ad Litem and as a mediator, credentials that reflect both courtroom and dispute-resolution work. She is admitted to practice in Ohio and Michigan, and memberships in several local and state bar organizations underline an active role in the legal communities of both states.
Nickolls maintains memberships in the Ohio State Bar Association and the Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association, and she is active in county-level associations including Lorain County, Washtenaw County and Livingston County bar groups. She also belongs to the Michigan State Bar Association and the Oakland County Bar Association American Inn of Court, and she is listed with the Washtenaw Women’s Lawyer Association. These affiliations connect her practice to both urban and regional legal networks.
Her background blends social work, counseling and legal practice. That background informs work that often involves family-related matters, court-appointed guardian ad litem assignments and mediation services. She has experience on both sides of the client table: counseling families earlier in her career and later representing clients and serving as a neutral in mediated resolutions.
She currently practices as a lawyer and mediator at The Nickolls Law Office LLC, handling mediation and guardian ad litem matters across Ohio and Michigan.
