About Linda
Linda McGuire is an attorney based in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, specializing in personal injury and insurance claims. She earned her Juris Doctor from the University of Oklahoma College of Law in 1990. This foundational education laid the groundwork for a diverse legal career that began shortly after graduation. Initially, Linda practiced as a family lawyer, gaining experience in various aspects of family law. However, her career took a significant turn when she transitioned to the Appellate Public Defender’s Office. There, she managed over thirty appeals annually for indigent criminal defendants, advocating for those who could not afford legal representation.
In 1996, Linda joined the Oklahoma Court of Criminal Appeals' Orders Division. Her responsibilities included managing writs of mandamus, prohibition, and habeas corpus, as well as appellate motions and various appeals. From 1998 to 2006, she served as a Staff Attorney for the Honorable Charles Johnson, focusing on felony appeals, including capital murder and post-conviction cases. In 2007, Linda expanded her practice by joining a securities litigation firm, where she gained experience in a different area of law.
The following year, she became General Counsel for an Oklahoma oil and gas company, overseeing complex litigation matters that involved significant financial stakes. This role not only broadened her legal expertise but also broadened her knowledge of the energy sector, which is vital to the Oklahoma economy. In 2015, Linda co-founded McGuire Law Firm with her husband, Kent McGuire. The firm focuses on insurance-related legal disputes and general civil matters, allowing Linda to leverage her extensive background in both personal injury and insurance claims.
