About Liah C.

Liah C. Catanese earned a Bachelor of Arts from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2002 and a Juris Doctor from the University of Miami School of Law in 2007. She completed her legal studies in Miami and then established her practice in the state where she trained. Her academic background combines broad undergraduate liberal arts study with three years of law school in a major Florida legal market.

After law school she became licensed to practice in Florida. She has worked in that state’s courts and administrative settings. Early in her career she handled routine filings and court appearances common to new practitioners, then took on more complex matters as her caseload grew. That steady progression gave her practical exposure to both courtroom procedure and client advising.

Her practice involves a mixture of advocacy and counseling. She spends time drafting pleadings and motions, preparing witnesses, and presenting arguments in hearings. Outside the courtroom she prepares legal analyses and explains options to clients so they can make informed decisions. Those activities require attention to detail and a clear command of Florida statutory and case law.

Colleagues describe her approach as straightforward and methodical. She tends to break problems down into manageable steps and to prioritize clear communication. Clients receive practical explanations rather than legalese. She also places importance on deadlines and procedural requirements; missed dates and formalities can make or break a case, and she manages those elements closely.

Over the years she has built a practice that stays anchored in Florida law. She handles matters in state forums and advises clients about the legal consequences of their choices within that jurisdiction. Her work today remains focused on serving individuals and entities that require representation or counsel under Florida law.

She currently centers her practice on matters arising under Florida law.
