About Leslie Scott

Leslie Scott Jean-Bart is a fifth-generation Jacksonville native who has dedicated her legal career to advocating for individuals in personal injury, education law, and social security disability cases. She earned her Juris Doctor from the University of Miami School of Law in 1997 and a Bachelor of Science in Biology and Chemistry from the University of Miami in 1994. Admitted to the Florida Bar in 1997 and the State Bar of Georgia in 2008, she has been practicing law for over two decades. After law school, Leslie began her career at Legal Services of Greater Miami, focusing on preserving affordable housing for the working poor. She then joined Sheppard, White & Thomas, P.A., handling employment discrimination, civil rights, and education cases. In 2000, she transitioned to Farah & Farah, P.A., where she concentrated on personal injury law. In 2014, she joined Terrell Hogan Yegelwel, P.A., where she continues to serve as a partner, specializing in personal injury cases. Leslie's commitment to public service is evident through her involvement in various community organizations.

She has served on the boards of Three Rivers Legal Services, LSF Health Systems, and Operation New Hope, among others. She has also volunteered as an Attorney Ad Litem and Educational Surrogate for foster children. Her leadership roles include chairing the Jacksonville Black Chamber of Commerce and serving on The Florida Bar’s Judicial Nominating Procedures Committee. In addition to her community service, Leslie has been recognized for her contributions to the legal profession. She served two terms as president of the D.W — Perkins Bar Association and co-chaired its Judicial Diversity Committee. She has been a member of the Florida Justice Association's board and has received awards such as the Silver Eagle and Shoe Leather awards. Leslie is married and has a daughter. She enjoys spending time with her family and is an avid reader and cook, known for her specialties like Christmas Gumbo and red velvet cake.
