About Leonard Barry
Leonard Barry Zoftis took a direct route into law. He earned a Bachelor of Science from Temple University in 1986 and completed his J.D. at Seton Hall University School of Law in 1993. Those credentials set the stage for a long career in private practice in Pennsylvania.
He opened his own firm, the Law Offices of Leonard B. Zoftis, in 1998. Running a solo practice sharpened his judgment and taught him how to manage both cases and clients. Two decades after starting that office he joined a larger partnership. In 2016 he became a partner at Velter Yurovsky Zoftis Sokolson, LLC.
Over more than three decades in the legal profession he has worked primarily in private practice. The arc of his career moves from a small firm owner to a partner in a multi-lawyer firm. That progression has given him experience handling the practical side of legal work and the business demands that come with running a practice.
Colleagues describe him as steady in the courtroom and pragmatic at the negotiating table. He has navigated the everyday challenges that come with representing clients in Pennsylvania courts and has built a practice shaped by those experiences. He has also managed the administrative responsibilities that accompany both solo practice and partnership roles.
Outside the office he has maintained ties to the legal community in Pennsylvania. He has kept his practice current through the years as rules and procedures evolved. Clients and peers have come to expect a lawyer who understands local procedure and the practical realities of litigating and resolving disputes in the state.
Today he is a partner at Velter Yurovsky Zoftis Sokolson, LLC, practicing law in Pennsylvania. He concentrates on private practice matters and continues to represent clients in the state.
