About Leland
Leland Malchow built a steady foundation in the law beginning with a business degree from the University of Georgia in 1982 and a J.D. from Mercer University’s Walter F. George School of Law in 1985. Those years gave him formal training in trial practice and legal procedure, and they preceded an early entry into firm-level leadership.
Not long after earning his law degree, he became a partner at Nimmons Malchow Johnson Injury Lawyers in 1985. He has worked at that firm in a capacity that centers on litigation and client representation in injury matters. His role there has involved courtroom work and the management of cases that require coordination across experts, insurers and opposing counsel.
Malchow is licensed to practice in both Georgia and South Carolina. His bar and association memberships reflect that regional reach. He holds membership in the South Carolina Bar and has belonged to the Georgia Bar Association and the National Asian Pacific American Bar Association since 1985. He also has served on the State Bar of Georgia Board of Governors, participating in governance and policy discussions that affect lawyers statewide.
Outside the courtroom he has taken on visible civic and professional responsibilities. He served as president of the Rotary Club of Augusta and also as president of the Augusta Bar Association. As a student he was part of a winning team in the Georgia Mock Trial competition, an early sign of an aptitude for advocacy. He is also listed as a member of the Gridiron Secret Society, an association linked to local civic networks.
Those roles underscore a practice that mixes trial work with service to the legal community. Colleagues and clients have encountered him in leadership settings as often as in depositions and hearings. Today he continues his practice in the Southeast, handling injury-related matters and representing clients in cases that move through negotiation and litigation. He currently practices in Georgia and South Carolina, concentrating on injury cases.
