About Leland E.
Leland E. Garvin earned his law degree from Nova Southeastern University in 2006. At Nova Southeastern he studied litigation and trial advocacy and served as a certified legal intern. He holds a Bachelor of Science from Florida State University’s Panama City campus, awarded in 2003.
He began his legal career in public service. In 2006 he joined the Office of the State Lawyer for the 17th Judicial Circuit as an assistant state lawyer. Two years later he helped establish Garvin Injury Law and became a partner there in 2008. His practice has remained centered at that firm since then.
Garvin maintains admissions in Florida and in two federal districts: the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida and the United States District Court for the Middle District of Florida. Those admissions allow him to handle matters in both state and federal trial courts.
Peers and professional organizations have recognized his work. He has been named among the Top 40 Lawyers under 40 by The National Trial Lawyers Association. Florida Super Lawyers Magazine has listed him among Florida’s Top Young Lawyers. He balances those recognitions with ongoing professional involvement.
He holds memberships in several bar and trial organizations. Those include the Florida Bar Association, the Broward Bar Association, the Lee County Bar Association, the Florida Justice Association and the American Association for Justice. He is also a member of the Broward County Justice Association. On a regional level he served as treasurer of Southwest Florida Trial Lawyers from 2016 to 2017. Since 2016 he has served on the board of Captains For Clean Water, a local advocacy group.
Garvin’s courtroom background and trial training inform his approach to cases. He began his career prosecuting matters for the state and later shifted to representing plaintiffs in injury and accident litigation. He handles pleadings, discovery and trial preparation, and his admissions permit him to pursue cases in both state and federal venues.
He practices from Garvin Injury Law and continues to take cases that require litigation experience and courtroom readiness. He currently represents clients in personal injury and related civil litigation matters in Florida and in the Southern and Middle federal districts.
