About Lee
Lee Zavatsky built a path to law from an unlikely starting point: a biochemistry degree. He earned a B.S. in Biochemistry from the University of California, Riverside in 2001. He then shifted to legal studies and received his J.D. from Loyola Law School, Los Angeles in 2008. The two fields shaped a methodical approach to cases and a comfort with technical detail.
He is admitted to practice in California and before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. Early in his career he opened a solo practice, founding the Law Offices of Lee Zavatsky in 2009. That experience put him in front of clients from day one. It also gave him a sense of the administrative side of running a practice.
In 2011 he joined Shwartz and Naderi as an associate. The role offered regular courtroom work and a steady docket. Two years later he moved into partnership, becoming a partner at Furman Zavatsky in 2013. The firm office is listed as Furman & Zavatsky LLP, where he remains a principal. His tenure across solo and firm settings has included both trial preparation and client counseling.
Zavatsky maintains a number of professional memberships. He holds membership in the Los Angeles County Bar Association dating to 2005. He has been a member of the Central District of California since 2009 and joined the San Fernando Valley Bar Association in 2010. Since 2012 he has been part of the California DUI Lawyers Association. These affiliations place him in regular contact with local and statewide practitioners.
Courtroom experience and those bar affiliations inform how he approaches cases. He represents clients in matters arising from driving under the influence and related criminal charges. He appears in state court and has handled proceedings that extend into federal appellate practice. Colleagues describe him as thorough in preparation and focused on the mechanics of evidence and procedure.
Outside litigation, he has experience managing a small office and coordinating case teams. He has worked in solo, associate and partner roles, and that range gives him a practical sense of both client needs and firm operations. He balances casework with bar involvement and routine court appearances. He currently practices at Furman & Zavatsky LLP, representing clients in DUI and criminal-defense matters.
