About Lea
Lea Galigani built her legal foundation at Auburn University, where she earned a Bachelor of Science, and then at the University of Florida, where she completed her law degree. Those two institutions set the stage for a career spent largely inside courtrooms and law offices across Florida. Her education combined with early practical experience shaped a steady, courtroom-oriented practice.
Her first recorded role in private practice came in 1992 at Silverman, Wilkov, DeThomasis & Buchanan. She moved on to the Law Office of George Schaefer in Gainesville in 1994. Those early years offered regular exposure to client work and the daily demands of a small-firm practice. She learned the nuts and bolts of representation in a way that informed later choices.
In 2004 Galigani took a notable turn into public defense as an Assistant Public Defender in the Eighth Judicial Circuit, based in Gainesville. The post put her in the position of representing clients at multiple stages of criminal cases, from arraignment through trial. Galigani has been a member of the State Bar of Florida since 1992 and practices under the Florida bar.
