About Lawrence M.

Lawrence M. Schonberger earned his J.D. from Vermont Law School in 1987 after completing graduate work at Virginia Commonwealth University. He holds an M.S. in Mass Communications Business from VCU, awarded in 1984, and a B.S. in Journalism from VCU, earned in 1979. The combination of journalism and communications study preceded his entry into law and has informed his approach to case preparation and client communication.

Schonberger began his legal career following law school in the late 1980s. His early years in practice coincided with a period of professional growth for many mid-Atlantic firms. Over time he built a practice in Virginia and maintained licensure in that jurisdiction. He has worked in firm settings that handle a range of matters and has experience managing client relationships across various subject areas.

His background in journalism and mass communications often surfaces in how he prepares for hearings and trials. He tends to frame factual narratives clearly and to prioritize thorough written work. Colleagues describe him as methodical in document review and careful in courtroom presentation. He has handled litigation and transactional matters during his career, adapting to the changing demands of state practice.

Lawrence has been part of the team at Sevila, Saunders, Huddleston & White, PC. At that firm he is one of several attorneys who serve clients from the office in Virginia. His role there involves counseling clients, drafting pleadings and agreements, and representing parties in state-level proceedings. He operates within a collaborative environment that assigns cases according to experience and client need.

Outside of casework, his earlier academic training in journalism informs his attention to fact development and narrative clarity. He applies those skills when preparing depositions, briefing judges and advising clients on public-facing communications tied to legal disputes. He also places emphasis on clear, plain-language explanations for clients unfamiliar with legal process.

As of 2026, Schonberger continues to practice law in Virginia at Sevila, Saunders, Huddleston & White, PC, where he concentrates his practice on representing clients in matters arising under state law and providing counsel to individuals and businesses in the region.
