About Lauren

Lauren Rode earned a Bachelor of Science in Applied Economics and Management from Cornell University in 2003. She continued her studies at the University of Minnesota - Twin Cities, receiving her J.D. in 2008, where she concentrated in business law and bankruptcy. Those academic years combined economic training with legal study and shaped the practical orientation of her approach to commercial and insolvency matters.

After law school, Rode established her practice in California. She is licensed to practice law in that state and has spent her career working with business clients, creditors and other stakeholders across a range of commercial contexts. Her background in applied economics informs a pragmatic view of business disputes and reorganization scenarios. She applies an analytical approach to restructuring options and transactional choices.

Rode’s work spans transactional and contested matters. She counsels companies on governance and contract issues, prepares and reviews agreements, and assists in negotiation and settlement discussions. In insolvency matters she analyzes options for balance-sheet relief, participates in plan negotiations and handles related documentation. Her role often requires coordinating among lenders, management teams and outside advisors to align legal strategy with business objectives.

Clients encounter Rode in varied settings: boardroom negotiations, creditor meetings and court filings. She is accustomed to tight deadlines and complex financial detail. Her training in economics helps her translate financial data into legal strategy. At the same time, her legal education emphasized procedural and substantive aspects of bankruptcy law, giving her tools to pursue both pre- and post-filing solutions.

Outside of client work, Rode has been active in staying current on developments in business and insolvency law. She follows changes in California statutory law and federal bankruptcy practice. That ongoing attention to evolving rules helps her advise clients facing shifting regulatory or market conditions.

Today, Rode practices in California where she advises businesses, creditors and executives on business law and bankruptcy-related matters. Her current practice centers on business law and bankruptcy matters in California.
