About Lauren
Lauren Barnhart earned her law degree from Willamette University College of Law in 2012 after completing undergraduate studies at Willamette University, where she received a B.A. in Political Science in 2009. While in law school she served as an editor of the Willamette Law Review in 2010, an experience that sharpened her legal research and writing early in her career.
She entered practice as an associate at Peterson Law Group in 2013. In that role she handled client matters and supported attorneys on a variety of legal tasks. The position served as her introduction to day-to-day law practice and courtroom procedure, and it gave her a foundation in managing casework and client communications.
In 2015 Barnhart moved to Landerholm Law LLC as a senior associate. The change reflected a step up in responsibility. At Landerholm she managed a broader caseload and took on more complex assignments within the firm. Her work there involved drafting substantive legal documents and coordinating with colleagues on strategy and case management.
In 2019 she joined Posey Legal PC as a senior lawyer. The role places her among the experienced practitioners at the firm and involves mentoring less-experienced attorneys. Her time at Posey Legal has been marked by steady involvement in litigation preparation, legal drafting, and client advising.
Barnhart’s background on the Willamette Law Review continues to inform her practice. Editors of law reviews develop close attention to detail and an ability to frame legal analysis clearly. Those skills show up in her courtroom papers and in the advice she gives clients and colleagues. She is admitted to practice in Oregon and maintains ties to professional organizations in the state.
Colleagues describe Barnhart as methodical and exacting in her approach to legal problems. She favors careful preparation and clear written work. Outside the office she has participated in professional activities that keep her engaged with developments in state law. She now practices at Posey Legal PC, where she concentrates on the matters the firm handles.
